Overview
A rotary air lock, also called a rotary valve, controls the flow of powders and granular materials between different process environments. It has a cylindrical housing and a rotating vane rotor that forms pockets to transfer material from inlet to outlet.
In carbon black plants, rotary air locks discharge powder or pellets from reactors, bag filters, dryers, silos and hoppers into pneumatic conveying or bagging systems.
