Overview
A pelletizer converts carbon black powder into compact, uniform wet pellets for densification, easier handling, transport and storage. The machine has a cylindrical housing, a rotating shaft with pins and an external jacket heated by steam or hot water.
Carbon black powder enters one end of the housing, while a controlled amount of water is added to form wet pellets. The rotor typically operates from 450 to 650 rpm; pin-tip friction creates round pellets that are discharged at the opposite end for drying.
