Overview
The combustor is the first and one of the most important components in a carbon black manufacturing process. It burns natural gas, oil, secondary feedstock or COG to generate the hot gas stream that contacts feedstock oil. This cracks aromatic hydrocarbon molecules through pyrolysis into elemental carbon and hydrogen.
Our combustors use heat-resistant alloys and typically operate from 1,400 to 2,200 degrees Celsius, depending on the refractory arrangement. These temperatures support high conversion efficiency and carbon black yield.
