Overview
Surge tanks are part of the carbon black granulation system and provide a buffer before pelletizing. The tank uses a cylindrical vessel with a flat frustum bottom and a slow-rotation agitator that keeps the lower section clear.
This arrangement supports a constant, uniform flow to the pelletizer through a carbon black feeder or high-speed feeder. The vessel is constructed in stainless steel and can include level sensors and instrumentation for controlled operation.
