Overview
The rotor shaft is the core rotating component in a steam turbine, converting thermal energy into continuous mechanical rotation. Rotor and stub shafts are engineered for extreme temperature, steam pressure and centrifugal stress in impulse, reaction, condensing and back-pressure turbine configurations.
Using heavy CNC turning, precision cylindrical grinding and finish machining, SSCPPL can machine rotor shafts up to four metres in overall length while holding geometric and dimensional tolerances within 10 microns.
