Overview
Core tie rods, also called core clamping bolts or through-bolts, provide the axial and transverse clamping force that holds transformer core laminations, upper frames and lower clamping beams in a rigid assembly. Uniform, permanent pressure supports electrical efficiency, low acoustic emissions and structural life.
SSCPPL manufactures high-tensile core clamping tie rods in high-strength alloy steel with dielectric insulating sleeves, or in non-magnetic and non-metallic composite materials where specified. These arrangements help prevent circulating eddy currents, hot spots and electrical flashover.
